We are front runners in the transition from fossil-based to bio-based materials, leading to a carbon neutral everyday life.
We want to change the way we value cellulose by developing intelligent biotechnologies and bioproducts with economical, environmental and social impact.
Working with food, pharma, plastics and textile industries we want to create a healthy carbon neutral everyday life for the people, sustainable future for the planet and profit for the businesses.
We have technology and equipment fully ready for implementation, offering a fast-track to market with bioproducts and biotechnologies.
Nordic Bioproducts Group (NBG) is a R&D spin-off of Aalto University developing and commercializing smart biotechnology to refine cellulose into high-value bioproducts.
Our Cellulose Hybrids are renewable, value-adding components engineered to improve material properties. We produce them from sustainable and traceable Finnish forest fibres or from recycled materials and industrial sidestreams.
The scalability of our technology makes it possible for any pulp mill to produce new high-value-added bioproducts in an industrial scale. We have partnered with Aalto University’s Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems and world leading pulp and paper technology provider Andritz Ltd to take AaltoCell™ technology to global markets.
We are a multidisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, entrepreneurs and designers to secure the impact of our bio-innovations.
